The Many Lakes of Lakeland, Florida

When you drive around Lakeland, you pass lots of lakes. The City of Lakeland says that there are a total of 38 named lakes within City limits, as well as numerous smaller lakes. Sizes among the 38 named lakes range from 2.5 acres (Lake Blanton) to 2,272 acres (Lake Parker) of which 17 are natural and 21 are man-made. Lake Parker is the large lake behind my condo development. Today I’m sharing a few photos of another lake I passed in my drives.

So many great nature spots over there with all of those lakes. Lake Hancock at Circle B and Lake Morton with those swan babies.

    1. Yes, there are lots of swans in Lake Morton, and the city has a lady whose job is to take care of the swans. That's the only lake with swans. Remember many lakes in Florida can also have gators!

  8. Your lake photos are absolutely lovely. Lakeland really earns its name — 38 lakes is incredible, and the mix of natural and man‑made ones makes every drive feel scenic. Lake Parker behind your condo must be such a peaceful view, and the lake you featured today looks like a perfect spot to pause and enjoy the sky and palms.

    1. Yes, there are lots of birds. I know names of some but not all. Unfortunately, I don't have your knowledge or equipment for taking photos. I'm really a basic point and shot girl. You are extremely skilled!
