January Morning Sky

For the last month, as snow storms hit other areas of the country, Florida has gotten multiple cold fronts coming in from the north. You wake up to gray skies, thin gray clouds, and little sun. It looks like snow clouds to me but we’re too far south. Often the cold fronts bring us cold to the bone rain. (I know it’s not cold to northerners, but it’s cold to Floridians.) So I am always happy when the gray is blown away and blue skies return with thin wispy white clouds.

The photos are from a morning when the rain stopped, and the sun came out.

Just for fun, I’m sharing a funny meme I saw on Facebook.

  1. I'm glad you've moved to Blogger and I hope you like it. If you run into any glitches visit lifeandlinda.com and check out her blog tutorial link which troubleshoots occasional blogger quirks. I'm not a fan of daily blogs because I just can't keep up! And they take time so I get your choices. This format looks very nice and I say smart move!

    1. Thanks for your support, Jeanie. I hope you're not freezing to death up north. I had to go the dentist first thing this morning and boy, it's so cold for central Florida!

    1. Yes, last Monday night our low was 31 F! I didn't leave my apt until this morning's dental appointment, and I was freezing while driving. It is supposed to warm up by next week. I hope! I hope you're doing ok up in the frozen lands in your area.

  3. Beautiful photos, I love the big fluffy clouds and blue sky.

My first job out of college I went from New Mexico to south Texas. In New Mexico, 40's was shirt sleeve weather if it was sunny and no wind. At first I made fun of people living in Victoria who were freezing at 60F until my blood thinned out and I became one of them.

    1. I did the same thing when I moved from Tennessee to Miami back in the 70s. A cold front came to Florida and I laughed. Two years later I was freezing.

    1. It's very cold to me as I am used to much warmer weather in central Florida. Low below freezing expected tonight. I'm going nowhere this weekend. Trying to stay cozy and warm.
